Radiator cuddle
A memory shared by Jack
Not long before Joe went into care, we turned up at the house to find Joe wearing layer upon layer of clothing, even though the house was warm. I went to stand by the radiator to warm myself up, and he joined me in a sort of cuddle. He looked over at Jean and Cliodhna, then back at me, shrugged his shoulders, and whispered, “Women, eh?” followed by a wink.
We stood there for another five minutes, saying nothing, just sharing the cuddle. Then, as we were saying goodbye, he whispered again, “Women, eh?” It was the last conversation I remember having with him, and it still makes me laugh every time.
